They extabated shepherd at around 4p yesterday evening. He was struggling, though not as hard as last time. I was with him till about 11pm and we got a phone call from the hospital at 5am saying they had to re-intabate him. So here we are, trying to trust God and trying not to let our minds wander to the future. We just have today to trust God's plan for Shepherd, and that will take all we have. And then his mercies are new in the morning.
So far, they don't know why extabation failed. They will put another scope down in his respiratory system next time they extabate and they will up his feeds to try to strengthen him throughout the week. They will not try again until at least Friday, probably Monday. I think it is needless to say, but please pray.  It is very discouraging, and though I am glad they don't see a major problem holding him back- it's not very comforting to know that they aren't sure why he can't breath on his own cause then how can they ensure it doesn't happen next time? But, ultimately only God can really help Shepherd and only God can illuminate the situation for the doctors. So pray He does just that.

praying. Please God make the way clear. 1 Samuel 1:27-28 "For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore, I also have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the LORD. So they (Hannah) worshipped the LORD there."

Hey Steph,

I was disheartened to hear about this. However I keep reminding myself that I need to keep my expecations low considering how much this little one has been through. I truly trust he will be fully healed one day, it just may take longer than we all want it to. In the meantime, my heart goes out to you as I know this has been a roller coaster ride you didn't buy a ticket for! I love you so much. -Carolina

Thanks for your comment Stephanie. We are all praying for Shepherd. God will ordain the steps for this special boy. I can't imagine how challenging this is for you right after giving birth. James was just over 4 months old. You are all in my prayers. May you sense the spirit's leading every step of the way.

Noah & Steph-We are praying like crazy for yall...just prayed again with our small group tonight, too.
Thinking, checking in on the blog, and praying His Word over you each. So encouraged by your faith, your realness, and your desires to honor Him above all, in these hardest of times. SO encouraged by the Scriptures He led you to the day you had him, Steph! Go is so alive, and so near.
We love you all!
