Surgery...again

Well, tomorrow Shepherd has surgery scheduled to get his tracheostomy. I'm very tired right now, so I will try to keep this short (that's what I always say, we'll see). I would be lying to say that I am "ok" with the events planned for tomorrow, but I think we accept them on a level. It's just simply put...hard. So please keep Shepherd and our family in your prayers tomorrow and throughout  the week as he recovers. Part of me just hates even having to write this post. I had so hoped this would never be a reality. But I know, with God's tender love, we can face what each day will hold, what each moment holds. We asked the ENT surgeon, as he was leaving, what needed to happen for them to cancel Shep's tracheostomy. He said that his CPAP would have to come out by some freak accident, then for no apparent reason the alarms that would normally go off would break, and oddly no nurses would notice for hours, until they came in to find Sheperd breathing perfectly fine on his own.
ok, so, now you all know exactly how to pray. Get to it.
He' son the books for 3pm, but it could be anytime of the day. We'll keep you posted. Thanks.

I will be praying today for everything to go well, and for peace for you as you face this hurdle...I know it isn't what we hoped for, but God still has Shepherd in the palm of his hand, and no matter what happens, he is safe there. I know you don't want to be thinking about it all right now probably, but I am trained and capable to do trach care, and would love to be a help to you guys if that is something I can do for you. I love you all and will keep lifting you up.

Stephanie,
You don't know me, but I was directed to your blog by a friend who came across it by chance one day. I live in Houston, TX, and I have a 3 year old son who has had a tracheostomy since he was 2 months old. I know the struggles you are feeling inside right now, and I know what lies ahead for you. My husband and I will be praying for you and your family as you go through this difficult day. I would love to contact you further if you have any questions and if you just need to talk to someone who's been there. My email address is jhitt26@yahoo.com.
My prayer for you today is for a successful surgery for your sweet little boy, and for comfort for the rest of your family as you face the unknown. It's tough, but we got through it only with the Grace and Love of God.

Stephanie, we prayed for Shepherd two weeks ago at MOPS as he was having his first surgery and we'll be praying today for him, and missing having you there.

God's grace IS sufficient.
