We got to spend the night with our boys. They are so refreshing for us. What an encouragement to have their company, then cuddle up with them at the end of the day, and wake up to their smiling faces.
When we got here this morning, they had changed their mind about extabating Shepherd this morning. They stopped his diarrhetic yesterday and his lungs where a little wet today. So the plan is for tomorrow. I am a little bummed but mostly, I know God is answering our prayers for his timing. So please be praying tomorrow.
Overall, Shepherd is doing great and we are very encouraged. When we came in yesterday morning he was so alert, and he has been ever since. His swelling has gone down some. He has his eyes open all the time, and he is comfortable overall. We have been able to talk to him with his eyes open more in the past 2 days than his whole life. And everything, except his lungs look perfect. The day before yesterday, they had the ventilator taking 22 breaths per minute and he took 25. This morning he has moved all they way down to the machine taking 10 breaths per minute and he takes about 45. So he is donig almost all the work on his own. We are encouraged, in a number of ways. Please keep praying. We are experiencing the sweetness of your prayers every moment of every day. We wish we could be worshipping with our church body this morning, but instead we will do our best to worship here, in this hospital.

Hey Steph,
I came on here to see if you had posted about his extabation (sp?) and I see it's been moved. I will keep praying. I'm so encouraged that he is breathing well and that everything else looks good. I mean, it was only 4 days ago he was having heart surgery!! I feel that this week has been one of the longest weeks ever bc of Shepherd, I cannot begin to imagine how long it has been for you my friend. I love you so much and I am here praying!
Love,
Carolina
